Ruudullinen neuletakki jämälangoista / Checkered cardigan out of scrap yarn
Tähän projektiin käytin kotoa löytyviä jämälankoja, eli lankoja joista minulla oli vain kerä jäljellä jotain tiettyä väriä ja sitten ihan vajaita keriä jostain aikaisemmista töistä. Tarkoituksenani oli neuloa Petterille mukava kotineule, mutta valmis neule on ihan vähän liian pieni hänelle. Neuleesta tuli juuri sopivan kokoinen minulle. Olen 173 cm pitkä ja käytän normaalisti vaatteita koossa 38/M.
Neuloin neuletakin paksummasta langasta ja käytin yhtä, kahta tai jopa kolmea lankaa saadakseni Novitan Isoveljen paksuista lankaa. Käytin 6 mm ja 7 mm pyöröpuikkoja.
// For this project I used leftover yarn from home, i.e. yarns of which I only had a skein of a certain color left and then quite a few skeins from some previous work. My intention was to knit a nice home cardigan for Petteri, but the finished sweater is just a little too small for him. The sweater came out just the right size for me. I am 173 cm tall and normally wear clothes in size 38/M.
I knitted the cardigan with a thicker yarn and used one, two or even three strands to get the thick yarn like Novita's Isoveli. I used 6 mm and 7 mm circular needles.
TAKAOSA
Luo 72 silmukkaa 6 mm pyöröpuikolle.
Neulo joustinneuletta (1 oikein, 1 nurin) 4 kierrosta.
Vaihda 7 mm pyöröpuikolle ja aloita neljän ruudun neulominen. Yksi ruutu on 18 silmukkaa. Aseta juuri käyttämäsi lanka uuden värisen langan päälle ruutua vaihtaessa (löytyy kuvasta alla).
Neulo ruuduista yhtä korkeita kuin mitä ne ovat leveitä.
Neulo yhteensä 5 ruuturiviä.
Päättele silmukat löyhästi.
// BACK
Cast on 72 stitches on a 6 mm circular needle.
Knit 4 rounds of ribbing (knit 1, purl 1).
Change to a 7 mm circular needle and start knitting 4 squares. One square has 18 stitches. Place the yarn you just used on top of the new color when changing squares (see picture below).
Work the squares as high as they are wide.
Work a total of 5 rows of squares.
Loosely bind off.
ETUOSA
Luo 36 silmukkaa 6 mm pyöröpuikolle.
Neulo joustinneuletta 4 kierrosta.
Aloita kahden ruudun teko 7 mm pyöröpuikolla. Yksi ruutu on 18 silmukkaa.
Tee ylivetokavennus kun olet puolessa välissä kolmatta ruuturiviä. Nosta oikeasta reunasta yksi s neulomatta, neulo 1 s oikein ja vedä nostettu silmukka neulotun yli.
Tee ylivetokavennus myös kolmannen ruuturivin viimeisellä oikealla kierroksella. Tee kavennukset tämän jälkeen aina ruudukon ensimmäisellä rivillä ja puolivälissä ruuturiviä.
Neulo yhteensä 5 ruuturiviä.
Päättele jäljellä olevat silmukat löyhästi.
Neulo toinen etuosa peilikuvana, eli tee kavennukset kaksi oikein yhteen -kavennuksina oikean puolen vasemmassa reunassa.

Cast on 36 stitches on a 6 mm circular needle.
Knit 4 rounds of ribbing.
Start by making two squares on a 7 mm circular needle. One square has 18 stitches.
Decrease stitches by overcasting when you are halfway through the third square row. Slip one stitch as if to knit from the right edge, knit 1 stitch and pull the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch.
Decrease again on the last row of the color from the right side. Do the same decrease always at the beginning of a new square row and in the middle of the square.
Work a total of 5 rows of squares.
Loosely bind off the remaining stitches.
Work the other front piece in mirror image, i.e. decrease as K2Tog decreases on the left edge of the right side.
HIHAT
Luo 36 silmukkaa 6 mm pyöröpuikoille.
Neulo joustinneuletta 4 kierrosta.
Vaihda 7 mm pyöröpuikoille. Yksi ruutu on jälleen 18 silmukkaa. Lisää ensimmäisellä kierroksella ensimmäiseen ja toiseen ruutuun 2 s. Työssä pitäisi nyt olla 22 s.
Neulo ruudukot normaalisti loppuun.
Lisää toisen, kolmannen, neljännen ja viidennen ruuturivin ensimmäisellä kierroksella 1 s kierroksen alussa ja lopussa. Tee samat lisäykset myös puolivälissä ruuturiviä.
Päättele silmukat löyhästi.
// SLEEVES
Cast on 36 stitches on a 6 mm circular needle.
Knit 4 rounds in ribbing.
Change to 7 mm circular needle. One square is again 18 stitches. In the first round, increase 2 stitches in the first and second square. There should now be 22 stitches on the piece.
Finish the squares as normal.
On the first round of the second, third, fourth and fifth square rows, increase 1 stitch at the beginning and end of the round. Do the same increase halfway through the square rows.
Loosely bind off.
Ompele kaikki kappaleet yhteen vuoropistoin.
Aloita silmukoiden poiminta keskeltä niskaa 6 mm pyöröpuikolla ja jatka poimintaa oikea kierros loppuun. Poimi reunasta aina kaksi silmukkaa (yksi ulommasta ja yksi sisemmästä silmukasta). Neulo joustinneuletta 4 kierrosta ja päättele oikea silmukat oikein ja nurjat nurin. Tee toinen etureuna samoin, mutta aloita silmukoiden poimiminen alhaalta.
// Sew all pieces together alternately.
Start picking up stitches from the middle of the neck with a 6 mm circular needle and continue picking up stitches to the end of the row. Always pick up two stitches from the edge (one from the outer and one from the inner stitch). Work 4 rounds of ribbing and bind off the right stitches by knitting and purling. Do the same for the other front edge, but start picking up stitches from the bottom.
Viimeistele neule päättelemällä kaikki langanpätkät!

Ruudut tekemässäni neuleessa ovat noin 14 cm x 14 cm. Lisäämällä tai vähentämällä silmukoita saat siis neuleesta isomman tai pienemmän. Pidä vain huolta, että ruudun korkeus on sama kuin leveys. Neulomisen iloa!
// The squares in the pattern I made are about 14 cm x 14 cm. By adding or decreasing stitches you can make the pattern bigger or smaller. Just make sure that the height of the square is the same as the width. Happy knitting!
